We are seeking a priest and colleague to be a Minor Canon, living and working in this community and helping us sustain the rich round of worship in Westminster Abbey and St Margaret’s Church. This fascinating and demanding position involves a deep commitment to our daily liturgical life, helping to preserve and share the Abbey's distinctive liturgical and musical heritage. You will also offer pastoral care, particularly to the choristers of St Margaret’s and as a point of contact for staff and volunteers. Additionally, you will contribute to and support the Abbey’s plans to offer liturgical and musical resources to the wider church.
We are looking for an individual with a degree in theology (or related field). A strong understanding of Anglican liturgy and choral traditions is essential, and experience in producing digital content is highly valued. You should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, have an eye for detail, and demonstrate a commitment to pastoral care. If you are sustained by Anglican worship, thrive in a team, value discretion and diplomacy, and are passionate about sharing liturgical expertise, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a world-renowned institution.
The post is open to priests of the Church of England, or a Church in communion therewith, with at least three years’ experience in full-time stipendiary ministry. You will be joining a supportive and inspiring team of colleagues, and to succeed in this role, you will need to be highly motivated, resilient, and eager to share responsibility.
