About the Role
Westminster Abbey is seeking an Emergency Planning Manager to join our Security and Emergency Planning team. This newly created role will focus on enhancing the Abbey’s emergency planning capacity, ensuring our readiness for a variety of potential incidents. The successful candidate will evaluate existing emergency procedures, develop best-in-class practices, and coordinate regular exercises to test resilience across multiple areas. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners, forging vital relationships to maintain up-to-date knowledge on best practices. As this is a growing role, there are plenty of opportunities for development within the Abbey.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an individual early in their career with relevant experience and qualifications in emergency planning or business continuity, such as ISO 22301 certification. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and manage a range of responsibilities. You should be proactive, solutions-focused, and able to maintain calm and effective communication in high-pressure situations. An understanding of working within a historic environment or a place of worship is desirable but not essential.
