You will source and develop products for the shops, focussing on unique items that will reflect the history, architecture and collections of the Abbey. You will also source and develop products for special anniversaries, celebrations and exhibitions, and assist with sourcing generic merchandise and books. The role will also enable you to develop and review cohesive range plans, whilst working collaboratively with a supportive and professional team of colleagues. There will be a strong focus on developing the online shop, whilst also analysing sales data, managing stock, prices and margins effectively.
Educated to at least A’ level standard, you will have proven in-depth experience of product development gained in the gift, heritage or museum sectors as well as a creative flair and a good eye for detail. To be successful in the role, you will also possess strong negotiating, financial and organisational skills, with proficient skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Confidence in using Adobe Photoshop is desirable but not essential.
Working Hours
The full time equivalent hours are 35 hours per week.
Annual Holidays
The full-time holiday entitlement is 31 days per annum, including recognised public holidays, rising to 33 days per annum in the fifth year of service.
Training
On-site training will be provided in all aspects of the job. Any further training needs will be assessed through the probation period and in annual appraisals.

All employees can join a Group Personal Pension plan, where the minimum employee contribution is 3% and the maximum employer contribution is 9% (as determined by the level of the employee contribution). You will be auto-enrolled into our qualifying workplace pension scheme after 3 months, if you meet the eligibility criteria.
