Westminster Abbey is seeking a highly motivated and efficient administrator for the role of Music Projects Assistant. The post-holder will provide essential support to the General Manager and Music & Chorister Recruitment Coordinator in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the department and the delivery of the Abbey’s music projects, including concerts, tours, recordings, digital projects and statutory services.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in music and have experience of working on concerts or public events, ideally within a classical music or arts setting. They will possess excellent IT and organisational skills, a good general knowledge of music (with the ability to read music), and an eye for detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities, build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, and work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
An understanding of church music and the traditions of cathedral choral life would be an advantage, as would experience of working with professional musicians, copywriting or editing, or involvement in digital content creation and outreach activity.

Working Hours
The full time equivalent hours are 40 hours per week.
Annual Holidays
The full-time holiday entitlement is 31 days per annum, including recognised public holidays, rising to 33 days per annum in the fifth year of service.
Training
On-site training will be provided in all aspects of the job. Any further training needs will be assessed through the probation period and in annual appraisals.
